Argentina forward Lionel Messi has become the oldest outfield player to feature in a World Cup semi-final, reports Squawka.
At the age of 39 years and 21 days, the Inter Miami player took part in the 2026 World Cup semifinal match against England.
The Argentine broke the record held by Fritz Walter and Gunnar Gren, who played in the 1958 World Cup semifinal between West Germany and Sweden at the age of 37 years and 236 days.
