Spain defeat Argentina to win World Cup title

The Spanish national football team has won the World Cup for the second time.

In the final in New Jersey (USA), the Spaniards beat the 2022 World champion Argentina 1-0 in overtime (video).

In the added third minute, Chelsea's 25-year-old midfielder Enzo Ferrandez was sent off for a second yellow card (video).

Regular time ended in a 0-0 draw. Extra time was scheduled.

In the 106th minute, the goal defended by Emiliano Martinez was scored by 26-year-old Barcelona Spanish champion striker Ferran Torres (video), who came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute.

Athletic Bilbao's 24-year-old striker Nico Williams scored an assist.

European champions Spain took 20 shots, with 12 on target. Argentina did not register a single shot on target and took 2 shots off target.

Spain won the World Cup for the first time in 2010.
