Youngest, oldest footballers of 2026 World Cup announced

FIFA has issued the final lists of footballers who will play in the 2026 World Cup, which will be held jointly in the US, Canada, and Mexico, from 11 June to 19 July.

Accordingly, the youngest player in the 2026World Cup will be Mexico and Tijuana midfielder Gilberto Mora, who is 17 years and 240 days old.

The oldest player will be Scotland and Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon, who is 43 years and 162 days old.

Portugal and Al-Nassr striker Cristiano Ronaldo, 41, will be the second oldest footballer.

Mexico and AEL Limassol goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, 40, completes the top three.

Of the footballers to play in the 2026 World Cup, 22 are under the age of 20, while 7 players are over the age of 40.

The 2026 World Cup will feature 48 national teams for the first time, and it will have 1,248 footballers.
