Round 8 of the 2026 European Individual Chess Championship was held Wednesday in Katowice, Poland, the Armenian Chess Federation informs.
The sole leader is GM David Anton Guijarro (Spain), with 7 points.
Armenian GMs Haik Martirosyan and Robert Hovhannisyan have 6 points, each, and share 11-27th places.
Among other Armenian chess players, GMs Shant Sargsyan and Emin Ohanyan, as well as IM Artur Davtyan, share 28-77th places with 5.5 points, apiece.
GMs Mamikon Gharibyan, Manuel Petrosyan, IMs Arsen Davtyan and Vahe Sukiasyan, as well as FM Tyhran Ambartsumian have 5 points, each.
GM Gabriel Sargissian has 4.5 points. IM Robert Piliposyan and FM Hayk Yeritsyan also have the same number of points.
Round 9 will be played Thursday and will start at 17:00 Armenia time.
