Paris 2024: France reach Men’s Football final

France have reached the final of the Men's Football competition at the Paris Olympics.

In the semifinals, the host nation—managed by Thierry Henry—beat Egypt 3-1 in extra time.

Mahmoud Saber, the 23-year-old midfielder of Egypt and Pyramids, opened the scoring in the 62nd minute. In the 83rd minute, the 27-year-old forward of Crystal Palace, Jean-Philippe Mateta, netted France's equalizing goal.

Extra time was called. In the 99th minute, Mateta scored his second goal. And in the 108th minute, the 22-year-old midfielder of Bayern Munich, Michael Olise, made the score 3-1.

France's opponents in the final will be Spain, which defeated Morocco 2-1 in the semifinals.

The final will be played Friday and will start at 20:00 Armenia time.
