Heavy rain is expected in the French capital during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris.
And for the first time, this event will be held outside a stadium, on the banks of The Seine river, near the Eiffel Tower.
The procession of athletes will be held on boats—on 6 km of water.
French sports minister Amelie Oudea-Castera assured that the event organizers are ready also for rainy weather.
"Rain will not spoil the holiday. We follow the weather forecasts. We have been waiting for this day for several months. Of course, everything is more pleasant in good weather, but nothing will interfere with our plans. Even the rain will not reduce the quality of our show," Oudea-Castera said, RMC Sport reports.
The opening ceremony will start at 21:00 Armenia time.
The Paris Olympic Games will conclude on August 11.
