World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz has reached the semifinals of the French Open (Roland-Garros).
The Spanish tennis star defeated World No. 9 Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece) in three sets—6:3, 7:6 (7:3), 6:4—in the quarterfinals. The match lasted 2 hours and 29 minutes.
Alcaraz's opponent in the semifinals will be World No. 2 Jannik Sinner (Italy), who will top the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings after the French Open.
The prize fund of the French Open is 53.4 million euros.
