Giroud to retire from France national team after Euro 2024

Striker Olivier Giroud, 37, has announced his retirement from the French national football squad after UEFA Euro 2024.

"It is obvious that I will miss the matches with the national team, but it is time to give way to young players," Giroud said, reports L'Equipe.

At the end of the club season, Giroud will leave Milan and continue his career at Los Angeles club LAFC, with whom he has signed a one-year deal.

Giroud has been playing for the French national team since November 2011, scoring 57 goals and making 16 assists in 131 appearances, and becoming FIFA World Cup champion, runner-up, and UEFA Nations League Cup winner.
