The 2027 World Weightlifting Championships will take place in Armenia’s capital Yerevan. Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Armenia, informed about it on Facebook.
"The International Weightlifting Federation made a decision to give Armenia the right to host the 2027 World Championships. A little while ago I submitted our application, which was considered the best and the undisputed leader.
This is the first world championships from an Olympic sport that will be held in Armenia," wrote Harutyunyan.
