Yann Sommer, the goalkeeper of current Italian Serie A leaders Inter Milan, sustained an injury in the Swiss national football team, reports La Gazetta dello Sport.
He left the national squad camp and will undergo a medical examination at the Milan club.
Sommer injured his right foot in a friendly match with Denmark and was replaced in the first half. The match had ended in a goalless draw.
Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Jonas Omlin will replace Sommer in the Swiss national team.
Switzerland on Tuesday will play a friendly match with Ireland in Dublin.
