The men's Group A of the European Weightlifting Championships up to 102 kg has started in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, where Armenia has two participants.
World bronze medalist, two-time European champion Samvel Gasparyan and reigning European champion Garik Karapetyan were fighting for the title.
The competition in the snatch, the leader of which is Garik Karapetyan, has come to an end. He won the small gold medal with the result of 182 kg.
Samvel Gasparyan is a small bronze medalist in the weight category of 180 kg.
