In the semi-finals of the European freestyle wrestling championship in Bucharest, Romania, Arman Andreasyan secured a hard-fought victory and is now poised to contend for the champion title.

Arman Andreasyan, a World Championship bronze medalist and European vice-champion, faced off against Ismail Musukaev, the world and European champion representing Hungary, in the 70 kg category semi-finals. Despite trailing 3-5 in the last 12 seconds, Andreasyan executed a remarkable four-point move, shifting the score to 7-5 in his favor. The Hungarian wrestler appealed, but the referees upheld the decision, adding one point to Andreasyan's tally.

Andreasyan will now battle Georgian wrestler Akaki Kemertelidze for the gold medal.

Additionally, Arsen Harutyunyan, a three-time world bronze medalist, and three-time European champion, secured his place in the European Championship finals. Competing in the 57 kg category semi-finals against Azerbaijan's Islam Bazarganov, Harutyunyan dominated with a 10-0 victory in just 1 minute and 25 seconds of wrestling.

On February 17th, Harutyunyan will face Turkish wrestler Muhammed Karavus in pursuit of his fourth European championship title.

Unfortunately, Vazgen Tevanyan, Arman Avagyan, and Sergey Sargsyan, who participated on the opening day of the competition, suffered defeats.

Tevanyan narrowly lost 4-5 to Russian wrestler Hajimurad Rashidov, a Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist, world champion, and two-time European champion, in the quarter-finals amidst controversial refereeing conditions.
