Sergio Ramos scores 10,000th goal in Champions League history

The 10,000th goal in the history of the UEFA Champions League was netted by Sergio Ramos, the 37-year-old Spanish defender of Sevilla, BBC reports.

In the fifth round of the group stage, Sevilla lost 2-3 to PSV Eindhoven and lost the chance to advance to the playoffs.

The last time Ramos had scored a goal for Sevilla was in 2005. Later, he played for Real Madrid and PSG.

Sergio Ramos had netted as well the 6,000th goal in the history of the Champions League in 2013, and as a Real player. He had scored an own goal in the match against Manchester United.

This statistic has been calculated since 1992, when the European Cup was renamed Champions League.
