Juergen Klopp, the head coach of vice champion Liverpool of England, commented on the defeat of Spanish champion Real Madrid 2-5 at home in the Champions League 1/8 finals.
“The start in our performance was outstanding. This was the real us. It was perfect – exactly the way we wanted to play. The first half was good, except for the goals conceded. At the first goal, we played slightly passively in front, and the second goal was just a blunder.
We have not been able to return to the previous track. We had to play like in the first half, all 95 minutes. We will go there and play football," the UEFA press service quotes Klopp as saying.
The return game in Madrid will take place on March 15.
