Europa League: Match results of the day

The first matches of the group stage were played Thursday in the UEFA Europa League. 

Manchester United (England) Real Sociedad (Spain) at and lost 1-0.

Man United's 37-year-old Portuguese star forward Cristiano Ronaldo was in the starting lineup and played the entire match.
