Karen Khachanov (Russia) has reached the semifinals of the US Open.
The world No. 31 faced world No. 25 Nick Kyrgios (Australia), 27, in the quarterfinals, and the 26-year-old Muscovite Armenian tennis player won in five sets. The match lasted 3 hours and 41 minutes.
Khachanov will be playing in the semifinals of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time.
His opponent in the US Open semifinals will be world No. 7 Casper Ruud (Norway).
