YEREVAN – Armenian Sambo wrestler Gor Mayilyan won gold medal in the 56-kg category at the World Youth and Junior Sambo Championships 2012 held in the Bulgarian capital city Sofia.
Armenia’s athletes also received four silver and two bronze in this tournament while the national team came in third, overall, conceding solely to Russia and Georgia.
To note, Armenia’s representatives had also captured third spot in the European Youth and Junior Sambo Championships 2012. The national team will return to Armenia on Tuesday, the Sambo Federation of Armenia press service informs.
