Arsenal concerned that Arteta will return to Man City

The management of Arsenal wants to extend the contract of the club’s Spanish manager Mikel Arteta, being concerned that he will return to Manchester City in the summer.

Catalan manager Pep Guardiola's contract with the Manchester club is expected to run until the end of this season, the parties have not yet agreed on an extension of cooperation, Guardiola might take a break for 1-2 years from coaching. He has been at the helm of Man City since 2016.

The London club wants to sign a new deal with Arteta, 39—and which will run until 2025. His current contract is expected to run until June 2023.

Mikel Arteta headed Arsenal in December 2019, after leaving Manchester City where he was Guardiola's assistant.

Under Arteta, Arsenal have won the FA Cup and Super Cup.
