Olympic VLOG: Varsenik Manucharyan

NEWS.am Sport continues to present its Olympic VLOG program about Armenia’s athletes who have qualified for the 32nd Summer Olympics to be held in Tokyo. 

Varsenik Manucharyan, swimmer, 100 meters freestyle

She was born on July 11, 2003 in Yerevan.

Varsenik Manucharyan is a multiple champion and record holder of Armenia’s juniors, youth, and seniors’ competitions, as well as the winner of international tournaments and medal-winner.

Manucharyan's first major attempt at an international tournament was the 2017 European Olympic Festival in Hungary, where she improved her personal results but did not win a medal.

She improved her personal results at the 2017 junior world swimming championship, too.

In 2018, he participated in the European junior championship in Finland, and then in the world senior championship in China.

This Armenian swimmer has not won any medals in major tournaments yet.

She is a champion of the 2019 Pan-Armenian Games.

Manucharyan is the youngest member—at 17 years old—of the Armenian Olympic team in Tokyo.

She booked her spot at Tokyo 2020 via a white card.

Varsenik Manucharyan will start her campaign at the 100-meter freestyle in Tokyo on July 28.
