Spanish manager of the Armenia national football team Joaquin Caparros answered reporters’ questions before the friendly match with the Croatia national team.
“I have touched upon Mkhitaryan’s absence a lot. We will hold friendly matches, and I want to check many footballers. The best opportunity for this is friendly matches. I have stated several times that Mkhitaryan is a wonderful footballer and a very important player for our team. I’m certain that he will help the team during the matches in September.
I have been coaching for 40 years, and nobody has ever been able to have an impact on me in terms of selection. We need to empower the members of the team. I think highly of the Croatia national team. The team has footballers who play at the top championships,” Caparros said.
The Croatia-Armenia friendly match will take place tomorrow in Velika Gorica and will kick off at 8 p.m. Yerevan time.
