Lazio-Torino match postponed due to coronavirus outbreak

The Lazio-Torino match of the 25th round of the Italian football championship won’t take place today due to an outbreak of the coronavirus among members of Torino. Torino’s press service reports that the team’s training was discontinued after three players tested positive for COVID-19.

Torino’s municipal authorities have prohibited the team from leaving for Rome. Torino can’t request postponement of the match since, according to the rules of Serie A, at least 10 players of the team need to be infected with the coronavirus. Serie A hasn’t officially postponed the match, and Lazio are obliged to show up to the match, Football Italia reports.

Italian presses wrote that Torino have eight infected players and that the Sanitation Inspectorate of Rome won’t let the players arrive in Rome.

The match will take place at 9:30 p.m. Yerevan time.
