World Chess Olympiad was a tale from beginning to end – Levon Aronian

YEREVAN. – I hope to experience all this once again, the world’s number-two ranked chess Grandmaster and Armenian men’s national chess team’s leading player Levon Aronian said at a press conference, during which the national squad members commented on the results of the 40th World Chess Olympiad, which was held in Istanbul, Turkey, and Armenia was crowned world champion for a third time.

“The Olympiad was a tale from the beginning to the end, and it seems to be continuing now as well. The warmth that our team received, it’s such emotion that I can’t describe. I hope to experience all this once again. I’m simply very stunned and moved. I thank everyone very much. The happiness hasn’t passed yet. We aren’t thinking about tomorrow, but perhaps we still need a week to calm down,” Levon Aronian said.

To note, aside from becoming the World Chess Olympiad champion for a third time, Armenian men’s national team is also a three-time bronze medalist in this event.
