World and two-time European champion Simon Martirosyan scored a silver medal during the competition of +109 kg weightlifters at the International Fajr Cup in Rasht, Iran. Armenia’s second participant Ruben Aleksanyan wasn’t able to come out in the same category due to his illness. Simon Martirosyan scored a silver medal in the +109 kg category after lifting 410 kg.
On February 3, world and European champion Hkob Mkrtchyan scored a silver medal in the 96 kg category at International Fajr Cup, and 2016 European champion Andranik Karapetyan scored a small gold medal in the snatch drill in the 81 kg category.
