Chinese fans of Arsenal continue burning shirts of midfielder Mesut Ozil, The Guardian reported.
The move comes after Ozil posted a message on his Instagram profile describing Uighurs in the far north-western region of China as “warriors who resist persecution”. His comment provoked outrage of fans in China where the club is popular.
China’s CCTV canceled broadcast of Arsenal vs. Manchester City match. Arsenal made a formal statement saying Ozil’s remarks are his personal opinion.
