EL: More time added to Dudelange - FC Ararat-Armenia match

Armenia’s football champion, Yerevan’s FC Ararat-Armenia is competing with Luxembourg’s champion Dudelange in the return match of the final qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. The match will continue in the additional hour. In the main hour, Dudelange scored an arbitrary victory (2-1). Vardan Minasyan’s team had beaten Dudelange during the first match in Yerevan (2-1).

After the first half of the match at Josy Barthel Stadium in Luxembourg, Yerevan’s football team was winning 1-0. At the 21st minute, the Armenian team obtained the right to an 11-meter kick, but the goalkeeper saved the ball after Kobyalko’s kick. At the 24th minute, Dutch forward Mailson Lima pushed Armenia’s champions forward.

In the beginning of the second half, Portuguese defender of FC Ararat-Armenia Meneses violated rules in the team’s penalty area. Dudelange’s midfielder Daniel Sinani kicked the 11-meter and scored the second goal at the 72nd minute.

President of the Football Federation of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan and owner of FC Ararat-Armenia Samvel Karapetyan are also at Josy Barthel Stadium in Luxembourg.

Armenia’s football team has made it to the play-off of the Europa League for the first time in the history of Armenian football. In the previous two qualifying rounds of the Europa League, FC Ararat-Armenia won Gibraltar’s champion Lincoln (2-0, 2-1) and Georgia’s champion Saburtalo (1-2, 2-0). Vardan Minasyan’s team didn’t win Sweden’s champion AIK (2-1, 1-3) in the first qualifying round of the Champions League.
