The matter as to which number shirt newcomer Eden Hazard will wear at Real Madrid is not resolved yet.
The Belgian international’s favorite is the No. 10 shirt, which he wears for the national squad. But Croatia star footballer Luka Modrić wears this shirt at Real, and he has said no to give it up to Hazard.
“I have been able to talk to Modric through [Mateo] Kovacic. I was joking when I asked him to lend me the No. 10. He said no, so I’ll have to find another number,” Hazard said, METRO reported. “But right now, the number is not important for me, I just [want] to play with this badge.”
Real Madrid have paid Chelsea €100 million for Hazard and signed a five-year deal with him.
The Belgian international’s annual salary at The Meringues will total €11 million.
