Aras Ozbilis has greater potential – Armenian national football team manager

YEREVAN. – Following the Armenian national football team’s recent friendly matches against Serbia and Canada, it became clear that 3-4 new players could be included in the main squad, the team’s manager Vardan Minasyan stated during a press conference on Monday.

Commenting on the two friendly games, Minasyan noted that he received the answers to many questions.

“The main objective of the friendly matches with Serbia and Canada was to check the new reserves. In addition, they [the matches] enabled to send to the pitch those footballers who were not receiving much play time until now,” he said.

The national team’s manager also explained why the team roster’s first eleven played in the match against Canada, whereas the reserves faced Serbia.

“We knew that the match with Canada was for the rankings. Also, the majority of the players joined the squad much later, and they were allowed to rest a bit. New players were tried out, and I can say that the majority of the try-outs were successful. Aras Ozbilis [who plays for FC Ajax in the Netherlands] easily adapted to the team, and I understood that he can be of great benefit to our squad. But I must note that he has a greater potential and he can perform better,” Vardan Minasyan stated.
