Armenia is not in Euro 2012 – predictions

YEREVAN. – The 2012 UEFA European Football Championship (Euro 2012) kicked off on Friday, and NEWS.am Sport asked for some predictions from Armenia’s several well-known personalities. Below is an excerpt.

Hrant Tokhatyan (actor)

The Euro already started with a surprise. I was confident that Greece would win in the first game, but we saw what happened. I cannot say who will win Euro 2012. I have several teams that I like. But I very much wish for the Russians to become champions this year, albeit I know this is highly unlikely.

Vardan Petrosyan (actor)

I am a fan of the national team of Armenia. And since we are not partaking in this championship, it is all the same for me as to who will win.

Karen Andreasyan (Armenia’s Human Rights Defender)

I very much wish for Portugal’s team to become European champions, but I believe this year luck will be on the Italians’ side.

Mikayel Poghosyan (actor)

Since the Armenians are not participating, this tournament has lost my interest. I do not have a team that I prefer. Let beautiful football win! I believe either Spain or Italy will win.

Shushan Petrosyan (singer, MP)

I always like the Spaniards. I believe there are two main contenders: Spain and England. The tournament has just begun. We have not yet been fully immersed in the football atmosphere.
