World No. 15-ranked Karen Khachanov (Russia) has reached the second round of the Australian Open.
In the first round, the Muscovite Armenian tennis player competed with world No. 50 Daniel Altmaier (Germany), and won in four sets. The match lasted 4 hours and 5 minutes.
Khachanov's next opponent will be world No.103 Alexander Kovacevic (USA).
The Australian Open prize fund is $58 million.
