Real Madrid want to have their former manager José Mourinho, who was recently sacked by Manchester United, back in the club.
The Real management has contacted the Portuguese football specialist, El País reported.
The Meringues, however, plan to appoint Mourinho club manager solely after July 1, 2019 so as not to pay the €5mn compensation fee to Man United.
The manager has been promised transfer power at Real Madrid and a net annual salary of €20 million.
Mourinho, 55, has not yet responded to the offer.
