Footballer almost dies during Chinese Super League match

An unpleasant incident has taken place during the Chinese Super League football match between Changchun Yatai and Guangzhou Evergrande, reported Channel News Asia.

Changchun midfielder Wang Shouting had swallowed his tongue during the game.

Even though the players and medical staff from both clubs rushed to the footballer’s assistance, he was put into an ambulance with delay.

The player was left for several minutes on the pitch as paramedics struggled to open the back door of the ambulance.

Ultimately, Wang was taken to hospital and later released with no long-lasting damage.

The incident, however, caused quite a stir in China.
