Levon Aronian says a rule allowing player to offer a draw is outdated

Armenian chess leader Levon Aronian suggests repealing the rule, according to which the chess player
can offer a draw.

“To be honest, this rule is outdated,” said Levon, adding “But, I used it, since it was not forbidden, but my rival turned out to be suave. If I knew from the beginning that I did not have such a loophole, I would move my bishop to c8 two turns earlier,” said Levon.

“A draw is a normal result for chess. It is only bad if it appears unnaturally,” chess-news.ru quotes Aronian.

Norwegian chess grandmaster Magnus Carlsen beat Armenian chess leader Levon Aronian during the final round of the London Chess Classic. Aronian is in the seventh place with four points.
