Danish national football squad and Werder Bremen (Germany) midfielder Thomas Delaney commented on the national team’s convincing victory in their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Armenia.
In Monday’s match that was played in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, the Danes defeated the host nation by a score of 4-1, and owing to a hat-trick by Delaney.
“It was amazing,” BT quoted the Denmark international as saying. “I’m a little surprised that I scored three goals in the away match in Armenia; I’m very proud of that. Now, everything is fine in our team. Before the match against Armenia, I was sure that we were to beat Poland, too; that was our best match.
“The game against Armenia differed from the match against Poland. But it was very important that we made a comeback in the first half [of the game against Armenia] and then we built on the success. We are very satisfied with these two games and are leaving in a good mood.”
Armenia, on the other hand, have suffered their third successive defeat in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, and failed to qualify for this competition.
