Norway Chess 2017: Armenia’s Aronian still leader ahead of final round

The penultimate 8th round was played Thursday at Norway Chess 2017 super tournament which is wrapping up in Stavanger, Norway.

After three consecutive wins, the current leader, Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian, played a draw against the former World Champion, GM Viswanathan Anand (India).

Aronian, who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia, still leads the tournament with 5.5 points.

He will face GM Wesley So (USA) in Friday’s last round.
