FIFA: Armenia make great progress

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on Thursday issued its new World Ranking.

Accordingly, the Armenian national squad have jumped 18 spots and are now ranked 67th in the new FIFA standings.

After the previous World Ranking, they played one match and defeated Kazakhstan 2-0 in their 2018 World Cup qualifier at home.

The squad’s once 30th ranking was a record-breaking high for the country.

Now, Brazil top the FIFA World Ranking. Argentina have dropped to second place, whereas reining world champions Germany are still third.

Armenia will play their next 2018 World Cup qualifier on June 10, when they will be hosted by Montenegro.
