The Portugal-Wales clash is not only between Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.
Portugal national squad manager Fernando Santos on Tuesday stated the aforesaid ahead of his team’s Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Euro 2016 semifinal match against Wales.
“There is a past which is of importance to everyone, but we [i.e. the Portugal national squad] want to write our history,” the UEFA official website quoted Santos as saying. “On that road, a battle with a very strong opponent is expected tomorrow. It will be difficult, but our class is high, and it will enable [us] to resolve that matter.”
Portugal and Wales will lock horns on Wednesday, in the first semifinal game of Euro 2016 which France is hosting.
