Reining world football champions German started their Euro 2016 campaign in France with a win, on Sunday.
In their first game in Group C, the Germans defeated Ukraine by a score of 2-0. The goals came by way of Shkodran Mustafi and Bastian Schweinsteiger in the 19th minute and 2nd minute in injury time, respectively.
In the first match in Group C that was earlier in the day, Poland beat Northern Ireland by a score of 1-0.
In the second round in Group C on June 16, Ukraine will face Northern Ireland, and Germany will kick off against Poland.
