Mkhitaryan’s goal helps Dortmund advance to semifinals

Borussia Dortmund (BVB) played an away game against VfB Stuttgart and defeated the hosts 3-1 in Tuesday’s German DFB-Pokal quarterfinals.  

Armenia national football squad captain and Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan was in the BVB starting eleven, and he scored the guests’ third goal in the 89th minute into the game.

Borussia Dortmund have advanced to the DFB-Pokal semifinals.

The DFB-Pokal, or DFB Cup, is a German knockout football cup competition held annually. Sixty-four teams participate in the competition, including all clubs from the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga. It is considered the second-most important club title in German football after the Bundesliga championship.
