“We had a chance to succeed until the 70th minute,” said Armenia national football team manager Bernard Challandes, as he commented on his squad’s away defeat against Albania in Sunday’s Euro 2016 qualifier.
Armenia lost by a score of 1-2, and Armenia international and FK Vardar Skopje (Macedonia) defender Hovhannes Hambardzumyan was sent off in the 70th minute for receiving his second yellow card in the game.
“We played very well in the first half [of the match]. After the halftime, however, Albania surpassed us.“I told the players at halftime that if we want to win, we need to score again. And we had a chance to succeed until the 70th minute,” the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) official website quoted Challandes as saying.
