Alain Boghossian: Armenia national team is very important to me

I always support the Armenia national football squad, since I am Armenian, said former France international Alain Boghossian speaking on Tuesday’s Armenia-France friendly, which will be played in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

Armenia are not yet one of the strongest teams [in the world], but they are improving on a yearly basis. Footballers playing in strong European leagues are playing in the [national] team. The Armenia [national] squad is very important to me.

I hope a good match will be played between Armenia and France, and which will delight the fans,” Larqué Foot quoted Boghossian as saying.

Alain Boghossian, 43, played for the Les Bleus from 1997 to 2002 scoring two goals in 26 appearances, and he won the 1998 World Cup with France. Ever since retiring from professional football, the French-Armenian football player is engaged in coaching.
