Nanjing 2014: World Champion Anush Grigoryan wins no medal

Anush Grigoryan, who is Armenia’s sole female world boxing champion, was left without a medal at the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games which are held in Nanjing, China.

Armenia’s representative lost to Neriman Istik (Turkey), and by a score of 1-2, in the Women’s Fly (48-51kg) Bronze Medal Bout.

In her first match, Grigoryan had defeated Kazakhstan’s representative, but she was beaten by the Chinese boxer in the semifinals. 

Narek Manasyan, who is Armenia’s other representative in the boxing competition at the Summer Youth Olympic Games, will face Vidal Riley (UK) in the Men’s 81kg Bronze Medal Bout.
