I am close to optimal shape – Henrikh Mkhitaryan (INTERVIEW)

Shakhtar beat Zorya by 5:1 during the 27th round of the Ukrainian Premier League. Armenia’s best football player Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored two goals and earned a penalty for his team. After this victory Shakhtar leads the standings again.

The correspondent of NEWS.am - Sport hold an interview with Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Henrikh, the Premier League is coming to its end, all the teams weakened but you scored two goals and helped a third one during the last match. Where does all that strength come from?

If the team sets itself serious goals, we don’t have the right to be weak. We must play with 100 percent of our efforts.

Unlike Dynamo, Shakhtar continues to fight in the Ukrainian cup and so to say wastes strength, does that affect your game?

Of course it is hard to play two important matches in one week. But we are not the only ones fighting for the championship and the Cup. We shall do everything in order to win both trophies.

A month ago you received an injury. Did you recover completely?

Yes, everything is all right. I am trying to be careful and not to get injured again.

Are you satisfied with your physical shape?

I can say that I am close to my optimal shape.

Is the coach satisfied with you?

I don’t know, I haven’t asked.

Can you make any predictions concerning the semi-finals of the Champion’s League?

The best four clubs are in the semi-finals. All four deserve victory. I cannot make any predictions.
