England’s Liverpool FC are closing on a deal for the transfer of Armenian national football squad and Ukraine’s FC Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the Daily Mail reports.
Following Armenia’s 4-0 defeat of Denmark in Tuesday’s 2014 World Cup qualifier Group B match in Copenhagen, the English club accelerated the talks with Shakhtar to acquire the 24-year-old Armenian international.
Mkhitaryan’s transfer is valued at £17 million.
