Yura Movsisyan wished to move to FC Spartak Moscow and we did not make serious attempts to keep him, said Russia’s FC Krasnodar Kuban President Sergey Galitsky.
“We let [Armenian national football team and Spartak forward, former Krasnodar player] Movsisyan go for several reasons. First and foremost, we do not need an imbalance in the players’ salaries. Second, it is not right to keep a player who has a chance to play in a more prominent club.
Spartak Moscow is a high-class brand. Yura wished to move to Spartak and we did not make serious attempts to keep him. We were happy for and proud of him. He, together with [FC Krasnodar’s Brazilian midfielder/striker] Wánderson, became the top scorer of the Russian [Premier] League. We let Movsisyan go only when we found his replacement,” Galitsky said in a Russian television program, Sport Express reports.
