Arsenal captain Robin van Persie said he had never considered himself the main striker of the London club till he was obliged to play as a forward.
“I was hoping to play as a second striker. We only tried it when Adebayor went. The boss didn’t buy anyone else - he was convinced I could do it, but I wasn’t,” ESPN quotes Robin van Persie as saying.
During this season Arsenal forward scored 26 goals in 31 matches.
