The German goalkeeper for the German champions Bayern Munich Manuel Neuer has made his 164th appearance in the Champions League. With this, he has surpassed the records of former Barcelona player, Argentine forward Lionel Messi, and former Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller, both of whom played 163 matches.
Neuer currently trails Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo (183) and Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas (177).
Neuer took part in the fourth-round match against Atletico Madrid, which Bayern Munich won 2–0.
