Vincent Kompany, the Belgian head coach of German champions Bayern Munich, has been discharged from the hospital following several days of examinations and treatment and will now undergo a period of rehabilitation. This was announced by Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, as reported by Bayern & Germany.
The 40-year-old manager was diagnosed with irritation of the meninges (the membranes surrounding the brain), which caused him to lose consciousness during a training session a few days ago. The episode was accompanied by muscle spasms.
It is not yet known when Kompany will return to work.
