The newly appointed head coach of the Netherlands national team Xavi commented on the 2–1 victory over Serbia in the second round of the Nations League group stage.
"We could have played better regarding our high press, mid-block, and defensive organization, but we deserved this win. We struggled at times because the Serbian team has very strong individual players, such as Luka Jovic and Dusan Tadic.
I want us to always control the ball and press for the full 90 minutes. It might require a change in mindset, but that is exactly how I want us to play," Xavi is quoted as saying by the UEFA website.
The legendary Spain and Barcelona player secured his first victory as head coach of the Netherlands national team.
