In League A, Group 1, the French national team played away against Turkey and won 1–0. A 54th-minute goal by Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe secured a winning debut for France's newly appointed head coach, Zinedine Zidane.
In the other match of this group, the Italian national team hosted Belgium and suffered a 0–2 defeat.
The national teams of Montenegro and Cyprus—placed in League C, Group 2 alongside Armenia and Latvia—faced each other in Podgorica. The Montenegrin team emerged victorious with a 2–1 win.
