World No. 50 Karen Khachanov (Russia) Karen Khachanov commented on his victory over world number four Felix Auger-Aliassime in the second round of the US Open.
The player of Armenian descent defeated the Canadian 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.
"He might have had some health issues, and that is part of our sport. I wish him a speedy recovery if he is indeed injured. For my part, I strove to play my best; I fought hard and am very happy with this victory.
The last month didn't go well for me, so we were training. I am confident that I am in good form," the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) website quotes Khachanov as saying.
Khachanov's next opponent will be world number 97 Benjamin Bonzi (France).
The prize fund for the US Open is $108 million.
